Bramcost Publishers

Sort of like where Streamline Press left off, Bramcost Publishers has taken the liberty to reproduce beauty and fashion manuals from the Victorian era to the 1960s -- heavy concentration on the 20s, 30s, and 40s! These cute little books are like a dream come true to me and I'm hoping they will stay publishing for a long time to come! Over the weekend I got myself a couple treats:

I can't wait to sink my sewing needle into the 1930s dressmaking book. It was originally published in 1932 and the early 30s is one era that I LOVE, but my wardrobe is sorely lacking. It's got rave reviews on amazon and hopefully I can learn a lot from it.

And I'm finally going to attempt the famous "One Hour Dress" from the 1920s. Two guides were published in 1924 with instructions for sewing 17 different dresses in under an hour. I got myself the 1925 verision -- more variations and I like the lines from '25 better than I do '24. Still, I'm sure to look like a sack of potatoes either way :)

Past books I've bought from Bramcost:

Both great! My "future" books from Bramcost list would be long! Check them out for yourself:

Thank you SO MUCH! I just spent a bunch of (wasted) time trying to get similar items via interlibrary loan. Now I can own them for myself!
