Your Beauty Questions Answered!

Q: What should I do with my hair?
A: Look at pictures of how you want it, look up techniques on the Internet or in books, and then practice. It will probably look like ass the first few times, but the more you do it the more you get the hang of it and the better it will look.

Q: Will my hair color clash with my clothes or makeup?
A: What a stupid question.

Q: I wish I could sew!
A: What is stopping you? If you don't go for it you really don't wish you could sew so don't say it. I don't buy the "I'm too inept!" excuse. Again -- not trying hard enough or don't want it hard enough.

Q: What will men think of my beauty techniques?
A: Who cares.

Q: I can't do any vintage hairstyles on my thin, fine hair!
A: Yes, you can. You have to PINCURL it first, though. If you just roll your straight, dry hair onto the sides of your hair and then bobby pin it -- it just looks like a giant pincurl, not a roll. Truth.

Q: How can I maintain my vintage hairdo and work out?
A: Unless you do pussy "vintage" exercises, you will sweat and ruin your 'do. You either put the extra work in and set your hair every single night (like I do!) or decide which is more important -- hair or working out. I hate this question. Lol.

Q: I want a tattoo, but it won't look good at re-enactments.
A: I go to reenactment events with my tattoos (arms and legs!) in full glory. I'm not a re-enactor, but I can't imagine a hobby dictating my life. That's just me, though. I always say "Eat Shit" if you don't like my tattoos, but so-called "vintage" people always like them because they are all vintage-themed.

Q: I bought some 1940s makeup. Should i use it?
A: Uh, NO! Eeeew. They had much worse health and safety standards back then and it's always gross to "share" makeup or use old makeup. Ick. This should be common sense, though.

Q: This isn't very vintage!
A: Do some research and you'll probably find out that it is!

Ask me any question and I will answer it honestly and with no sugar-coating.

  8. "Pussy vintage exercises" bahahahaha!!! I'm afraid I just do not understand the whole re-enactment thing - I guess I could do it for one day at a special event, but I think I would come out in a rash if I felt I couldn't let my personality out - I may even to something "wrong" like key my nylons just so I didn't feel like a cardboard cut-out.
