A vintage piece of graffiti written on the inside of one of the old fuse boxes. Our building was built in 1926. It's actually kind of creepy that I live atop such urban ruins. Many of the rooms we "explored" were in terrible shape and probably haven't been touched in decades.

Vintage Graffiti
I went "exploring" around my building today with my husband and a group of friends/neighbours. We found out our building had a ballroom and a diner in it. Naturally, we had to "find" them!! We did succeed! But in all of our journies tonight, this was my favourite thing that I saw:

Funny thing is, I became interested in vintage clothing/style/history after going through an obsession with urban ruins. And I still do. There's so much to look at and to learn ..
ReplyDeleteThose walls look just like the walls in my icky basement o_o My house was built around the mid 1920s as well, so go figure.
they have nice handwriting
ReplyDeleteThat "1st" is the begininng of this sentence: "1st time this box was opened in 27 years. What a mess!" No date, unfortunately. Then under it is some graffiti from the 60s, 70s, and 80s. I know there was a point in time when the building wasn't used and the roof was caving in. Maybe that "27 years" is when the building was unused!
