I have been keeping up with my Tumblr, which is vintage porn and erotica from the beginning of photography to the 1960s (a few 70s, too, if they are amazing enough). It is absolutely 1000% NSFW. I *adore* vintage pornography and always have. I collect the books and the vintage "girlie" magazines, which I have scanned for my online "museum" of sorts. Remember, this link is very dirty. No quaint old ladies here: Snapped Garters Vintage Porn Tumblr.

My Facebook page is open for subscribers. I'm simply NUTS for old photos and facts so this is my outlet for this. It's quick, easy, and I can do it at work or home! I really adore everyone who has subscribed and commented. Once or twice a week I have "themed" days -- my last theme was vintage swimwear! My themes are all over the place and I do take requests! Please subscribe: My Facebook!! Please note, all photos on my FB are safe for work! ;) I actually encourage sharing of the pictures I find. I never claim credit just because I uploaded it (lame!)

I'm still somewhat active on The Fedora Lounge, but my interest is waning. I'm learning nothing new and there seems to be a new wave of anger there. I'm not interested in how much you hate the modern era, but I am interested in how much you love the golden era! :) Unfortunately, it has become more of the former and less of the latter over the past year. But, my wishful thinking continues to make me look at it!! Lol. I love the golden era, but I'm glad I live in 2012.
And I leave you with some 1943 fashion pr0n. Enjoy!

Blog time is hard to make when you lead a life. Glad to see you blog again and I haven't been visiting the lounge much either. There are some nice folks there, some good info but sometimes it seems to be repeating itself too much so my interested hasn't been as strong either. I really love that you don't take yourself too seriously in the vintage world that seems much too rare.
ReplyDeleteFedorka Lounge summed up = "I hate yoga pants/jeans/t-shirts/modern music/movies/society!" "People these days are stupid!" "Someone looked at me funny when I wore my Edwardian evening gown to go get gas!" and pages upon pages of useless banter between the same 4 or 5 people.
ReplyDeleteSad, when I joined in 2007 it was a treasure trove of information and interesting people. All the interesting people have left (but are on FB, thank god!) and all they have left is what you see above. Oh well.
Even though I love vintage and know a LOT about it, no doubt I would get snubbed by those try-hards in the street because I mostly wear jeans and t-shirts and I have many tattoos. LOL. Oh well -- their loss.
ReplyDeleteGreat to have you back. I took a look at your tumblr and it just goes to show there's nothing new under the sun. Just out of curiosity, what do you love most about vintage erotica/porn and do you have an interest in modern erotica/porn? I just think this is a really interesting conversation and you can email me if you don't want to do this in the comments ha desiree at popomaticdeluxe dot com.
ReplyDeleteI too noticed a little bit of hostility at the Lounge lately. It makes me sad that instead of all sharing the love for vintage and appreciating others diverse interests some people have a holier-than-thou attitude because they are more vintage/historically accurate/hate everything modern etc etc.
ReplyDeleteDesiree -- I've nothing against modern porn and I use it for "ideas" in my marriage (hehe!), but it just doesn't fascinate me as much as vintage porn. Modern porn is more of a tool to me. I think vintage porn is more interesting to me because when people think of Victorians, they think of stiff, upright, dull people. I like how Victorian pornography totally obliterates this notion! ;)
ReplyDeleteLaurie -- Yea. A shame! But glad all the interesting people are on FB sharing their love of vintage and not being angry about it...lol.
