Middy Haircut

About a month or so ago I got a "middy" haircut. It's is almost like Lisa Freemont Street's, if not EXACTLY like hers. I thought it would assist in pincurling by creating those layers of waves a lot of 1930s hairstyles have. I also thought it would make my hair lighter and fluffier -- as in, my curls wouldn't be weighed down to the bottom of my hair.

I was wrong on all counts!

Here is my hair in a 1930s style WITHOUT the middy:

The curls bounce into place and stay put. They might even be done with hot sticks, too. The curls and the hairdo stayed put all day.

Here it is today WITH the middy cut:

Absolutely terrible. This is pincurls that I slept on. They just brushed out into FEATHERS. This happens no matter wet or hot set. I simply do not have enough hair to create full, bouncy curls.

Maybe the hair cutter thinned it out too much -- I don't know. But the "middy" just isn't working for me -- unless I change my style to Leather Tuscadero :/

  1. Your graphics are hilarious but your predicament is not. I'm so sorry.

  2. I got a middy plus cut once and had the same thing happen because my hair is so fine. It actually works better to have it be cut into a bob and use a wet set overnight.

  3. I did th eopposite from y ou: i had a middy and got a bob cut. Honestly the bob cut holds curl in fine hair much much better.

  4. LOL I loved your meme! Did the same thing a few months ago and my hair hasn't been the same. I am growing it out right now in hopes that I can get it cut at one length into a bob.... :)
